Chiesa di San Martino di Burano

A structure by Andrea Tirali from the 1500s, with a strongly-leaning 18th-century bell tower beside it, it has the peculiarity of not having any portals. The plan is that of a Latin cross, with three naves and a transept, a main chapel and two side chapels. Its most important works of art are the Crucifixion by Tiepolo (1725) and the Miracle of St. Alban attributed to Antonio Zanchi. This last inspired a legend according to which the water brought a heavy casket containing the relics of the saint ashore on the island of Burano which only certain children were able to open.
